Planning for Food-friendly Neighbourhoods
North York Harvest's Food-friendly Neighbourhoods Project has mapped local food needs and recommended food solutions in three pilot neighbourhoods: Lawrence Heights, Bathurst-Finch and Weston-Mt. Dennis.
The plans provide rich information about existing food resources – from farmers' markets to food banks – and a tool to help spark action on local food issues. The result of a year-long consultation with residents, community agencies, and City of Toronto research departments, the food plans will also assist North York Harvest with determining where to deliver targeted programming.
