Around the globe, we are all feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, for the most vulnerable in our communities, the impact is far greater than one could imagine. Layoffs and closures have left thousands of families who relied on hourly wages without the means to feed their children. As we speak, thousands are going hungry.
Food bank usage is at an all-time high right for North York Harvest right now. We are not just seeing a return of existing clients, but also many new ones as well. In fact, our new clients have more than doubled since the start of the pandemic.
Now, more than ever, our community needs your support to face this unprecedented challenge.
On June 24, tune in to CBC Radio for a day of programming focused around community.
Join hosts, artists, and more for interviews, performances, and talks on how food banks are adapting during the COVID-19 era, the increased need of our community, and long-term planning.
You can make an immediate difference and help thousands of children, seniors, and individuals who were impacted by COVID-19.
Please make a monetary donation, which will allow North York Harvest to support those in need in our community.
