
Donate Securities
We gratefully accept gifts of publicly traded securities. Here’s how it works:
OPTION 1: Transfer securities to North York Harvest Food Bank
1- Download the Securities Donation Form to share with your financial advisor.
2- When transfer is initiated, please advise Natasha Bowes, Director of Development and Marketing, at 437-249-2036 or natasha@northyorkharvest.com. This will ensure our broker is alerted and we are able to identify the gift in a timely manner.
OPTION 2: CanadaHelps, our trusted partner, will process the donation of your security on our behalf.
1 – Complete the online securities donation pledge form.
Upon completion, you will receive an email from CanadaHelps confirming all the details of your pledge.
2 – Complete the provided Letter of Direction form and send it to your financial advisor or investment firm authorizing the transfer of your shares to CanadaHelps.
CanadaHelps will notify you by email once it completes the sales and a tax receipt will be sent to you for the value of your donation. The funds will be disbursed to North York Harvest directly by CanadaHelps, deducing a non-commercial administration fee.
*To ensure your gift qualifies for a 2025 tax receipt, complete your mutual funds donation before December 5th. All other securities donations before December 12th.
