North York Harvest’s Food-friendly Neighbourhoods Project has mapped local food needs and recommended food solutions in six pilot neighbourhoods. Our latest Food-friendly Neighbourhood plan maps the food resources in the Weston Mount Dennis neighbourhood.
The plans provide rich information about existing food resources – from farmers’ markets to food banks – and a tool to help spark action on local food issues. The result of a year-long consultation with residents, community agencies, UofT Faculty of Medicine, and City of Toronto research departments, the food plans will also assist North York Harvest with determining where to deliver targeted programming.
